Unwind
Life is sacred until the age of 13. Between years 13 and 18 children can be sent to the Happy Jack Harvest Camp to be unwound. Conner is a troublemaker, Risa is an orphan and Lev is tithed because he is the 10th child in his family. Follow their adventures as they try to escape their fate.
This is a very engaging, deep book. It could be used very effectively in an Eng. 11 or 12 class. The moral issues are thought provoking. It's a great satire about what could happen if some things are taken to the extreme. If handled appropriately I bet there would be some intense class discussions and lotts of research opportunities.
